Mayans, Nostradamas, And Einstein
722012: The Movie
2012: The day everything ends! At least that is what this movie is about. I love a good disaster movie. I think this one has to be seen on the big screen to get the full effect. It stars John Cusak and Amanda Peet. The trailer is fantastic with great special effects and a good story line. There is even a television series in the making. There is also an actual web page devoted to nothing but the 2012 prophecy. This web page is the official site and it is filled with news, articles, forums, photos, etc. I'm sure you can probably buy a tee shirt there, too, or anything else "2012" you can imagine. December 21, 2012 is the day that the winter solace will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in the last 26,000 years. That has to be important, right? I just don't know why. If it does cause a global disaster, I'm not sure what we can do about it. Check out the movie trailer at the bottom of the page.
Einstein Relaxing At Home
Mayans; Nostradamus; Einstein
The Mayans used the "long count" calender which tracks about 5000 years, then resets at zero. They were known for their advanced writing, math, and astronomy, but they weren't any smarter then our scientists today. They believed that civilization would end in 2012. The possible meanings of their "prophecy" are endless, they could have meant just their own civilization. After all, they are gone. Nostradamus also spoke about 2012, but he spoke about almost everything. In one of his quatrains he said, "In the year 1999 and seven months, The Great King of Terror shall come from the sky. He will bring to life the King of the Mongols. Before and after, Mars reigns happily". (C10 Q72) Some people believe that the "King of Terror" is a comet. It could be, but 1999 has come and gone and we are still here. In all reality, no one knows what he was talking about.
This much is true. Einstein's "theory of relativity" was looked at with scepticism until a total solar eclipse, ironically, illuminated the first experimental proof. It forever changed the way we think about time and space. It was found that the sun does pull stars closer toward itself than when we see them. In addition, it is believed that there will, eventually, be a polar shift to the center of the earth. Shifting of the earth can cause catastrophic events. Many believe that a large asteroid struck the earth millions of years ago and caused the dinosaurs to become extinct. Tsunamis are much more common and can potentially cause global repercussions.
End Of Times?
True?
Is any of this true? It could be, but we have no way of knowing. The Bible tells us that "no man knows the end of days". I bet someone would have made a movie about the Great Flood if the capability had been there, although I would think that the two animals of every species boarding the ark would have made me look. Alas, we haven't seen anything like that happen to make us sit up and take notice. It might be better to be prepared just in case. Be a little nicer to people. Spend more time with your loved ones. Take that trip that you've always wanted to take. Live life to the fullest! You never know when your end will come.
