Blogs, Blogs, Blogs!

I once posted this question to anyone who could answer, "what is a blog"? Now I know that blog is short for "web log" and that the first blogs were mainly technical for the internet. Then a young man wrote an online diary about his travels and added links and the blog movement took off. If a person could write their own code in HtMl, they could create their own blog. For the people who were not that technical, companies came out with host sites so that anyone can have their own blog. I have an old blog that I haven't bothered with for a year, I suppose that could be considered a failure. I am in search of the best way to introduce a blog, and hopefully write one that would interest the public.

UPDATE

I decided to start blogging about one of my passions, singing, in the form of Karaoke. I was advised to find a niche and since I love Karaoke and know quite a bit about it, it was a natural fit. I also hope to attract more people to it, since the ads are the only way to make money. I suppose I will know soon enough.

More Updates

Karaoke was not the one for me, although I do have a new idea for my next blog. Wish me luck!

Bloggers

You can write about anything you want to in a blog, from the "Cat in the Hat" to the Cuban Missile Crisis. The choice is yours. There are people who use blogs as a way to vent, to write down their hopes and dreams and some who use them for a rumor mill. There are also professional bloggers who make a very good living writing blogs. The key to that would be to have a very large and loyal following. If you write well enough and you write content that people are interested in, you could build up a following fairly quickly. Linking is another key ingredient to a successful blog. Back links and links to other websites can be very profitable. In the best case scenario, your blog could go viral, in the worst case, you have an outlet and a medium to write in, because let's face it, some of us have to write. We may be new to some of the online writing sites, but most of us have been writing for years, even if only in private. Blogging is a great way to fine tune your writing skills and maybe even make a little money.
