Pain Passes

Pain will crescendo and then it will pass,

It will rise and fall like the tide.

It is born small and becomes a giant mass

that makes you just want to hide.

It will gain on you till you can tolerate no more.

When everyone seems to judge you.

It makes you wonder what life is for,

Good moments for you are so few.

You heard it said, be careful for what you wish,

Words can be like a dagger.

The ocean floor rises up to meet me,

As toward the sea, I stagger.
